| This is light looping through video feedback. Basically, these patterns are generated by hooking up a video camera to a tv so that you are filming what the camera sees; then pointing the camera at the screen. Reflections of light off the screen are caught in the feedback-loop and generates such patterns. Order out of chaos!

Some see it as a philosophical brain teaser - trying to work out the physics of what's happening. The tv projects the images seen by the camera, while the camera sees what is projected by the tv. A bit of a 'what came first...' dilemma.
